What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers work by reducing the appearance of static wrinkles or fine lines on the face and adding plumpness to the skin where elasticity has been lost over the years.
The dermal fillers we use all contain hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance naturally present in your body. HA is important in the production of collagen and maintaining a plump, youthful appearance of the skin. HA is present in higher amounts when you are younger, which then reduces with age and factors such as sun damage.
Filler can as a result re-establish the contour and volume of the skin, whilst restoring colour and rejuvenating the skin, with added vigour.
Dermal fillers can be used for a variety of rejuvenating treatments, including:
- Restoring previous fullness of the lips, or enhance with added volume
- Filling deep lines on various areas on the face
- Correcting scars which have resulted in indentation, from causes such as acne and chickenpox
- Define, sculpt and lift the face with treatment on cheeks or chin
- Revive and refresh tired-looking eyes with tear trough fillers

Your dermal filler treatment
Dr Ashka will first have an in-depth consult with you to assess your suitability for treatment, your needs and to discuss what results you would like to achieve. She will then tailor your treatment accordingly for the best outcome.
At the start of your treatment, a numbing cream will be applied on the skin to ensure minimal discomfort. Next, small amounts of the gel-like dermal filler will be injected with a very fine needle into areas requiring treatment.
There is no down-time or recovery period. You’ll get immediate results which will last for several months!
Bear in mind that just like all other non-surgical treatments, results will gradually wear off after about 6-9 months. Top-up treatments will be required to maintain smooth and plump skin.

He listened to my concerns about an ongoing minor gum problem and he went above and beyond to match the colour correctly of a top front tooth veneer... Nothing is too much trouble. I am really happy with my new natural looking veneer and already made another appointment for some more 'prettyfication' of another front tooth. Definitely recommend Abbas and his team.

I have been going to this dentist practice since I was a child, and despite being frightened of the dentist initially I have always been very well looked after and now no longer have that fear. Recently I decided that I wanted to address the appearance of my teeth. They have always been discoloured and yellow and I have been very embarrassed about them, never smiling in a photo. I went through the teeth whitening process and then had some fillings replaced to match the new colour of my teeth. I went to Disneyworld, the holiday of a life time! And I smiled in all the photos, a big toothy grin, for the first time in 15 years! Cannot thank Abbas and his team enough for helping me regain some confidence!
