Magnolia House Dental Practice

Cancellations & missed appointments

When cancelling an appointment here at Magnolia we require 24 hours notice.

If you are an NHS patient, under the NHS contract after two failed appointments, two late cancellations or a mixture of both this will result in the cancellation of your status as an NHS patient at this practice.

If you are a private patient or an NHS patient having private treatment, the deposit taken to secure your treatment will be lost if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend to an appointment.

The reason behind patients losing their deposits if they fail to attend or cancel an appointment short notice is down to the practice maintaining a positive cash flow, as we still need to pay the nurse’s wage, the loss of surgery time for the dentist and the ever increasing overheads of running the surgery.

If you miss an NHS appointment and do not attend again within 24 months, we may not be able to see you again as an NHS Patient.

Cancellations should be made by telephone

Please call the practice at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment on 023 9248 3167.

Denplan Patients

If you are a Denplan patient at Magnolia, we also require 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. If you cancel a hygiene appointment with less than 24 hours notice or fail this appointment, we are unable to reschedule this hygiene appointment until you are next due an appointment. This is due to your monthly payments not covering the loss of surgery time.

To cancel your Denplan contract you must contact Denplan themselves on 0800 401 402.
